Shirley E. Christian

Shirley Elizabeth Christian, 76, of Henrico, VA, departed this life on Saturday, December 20, 2025. She was born on June 19, 1949 in Richmond, VA. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Donald (Duck) R. Christian, son, Atlas Christian, grandson, Marquest Christian, mother, Gladys Green, and father, Simon L. Biggers.

Shirley accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. She was full of life and enjoyed playing Bingo, and playing cards on Friday night with her girlfriends, going out enjoying fried oysters and crabs, bus trips, and relaxing in her recliner while watching her favorite westerns. Shirley also enjoyed cooking on Sundays and amongst her famous dishes were meatloaf, ribs, and pot roast. You could always count on Shirley for a good laugh and a good time.

Shirley leaves behind her daughters, Cheryl Christian, and Felecia Christian; grandson, Stephon Simpson; stepson, Donnell Brown, sister, Deloris (Erving) Bradby, daughter-in-law, Diane Christian, sisters-in-law, Angela Bradby, and Sylvia (James) Christian; brother-in-law, Lucarl (Priscilla) Bradby; devoted friends, Gwen, Brenda, Margie, and Delois; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Shirley's smile was contagious and it showed her cheerful spirit. We will love you always.

A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, 5426 Longbridge Road, Henrico, VA.

Interment will follow services at Oakwood Cemetery.

Following the interment a repast will be at the Gravel Hill Schoolhouse located at 5417 Longbridge Road, Richmond, VA 23231.

The family is receiving services of comfort from Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service, 5004 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA.
