Sherri A. Branch

Sherri Ann Branch, daughter of the late Elnora Branch and Frank Brown, was born on August 31, 1962 in Wise, North Carolina. She departed this life on November 22, 2025 in the comfort of her home. She moved to Richmond in 1969 to join her younger sister, Julia Branch. There she attended Richmond Public Schools and graduated from George Wythe High School.

She honorably served in the Army for 12 years, achieving the rank of SP4 (E4). During her military career, she received numerous awards including the Overseas Ribbon, Marksman Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal.

She also attended Tidewater Community College, where she earned her certificate of completion in Culinary Arts.

Sherri was a Christian by faith, worshipping at 31st Baptist Church later joining Cedar Street Baptist Church. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Diamond Branch-Mealy (Raekwon Mealy); one son, Valdez Branch; three grand-sons, Riel Branch, Norrell Branch and Raekwon Mealy, Jr.; two grand-daughters, Jasani Mealy and  Desi Mealy; two sisters, Shirley Ann Brown and Regina Brown both of Manhattan, New York; two aunts, Alice Young of Norlina, NC and Ruth Shelton (Pete Shelton); devoted cousins, Jennifer Branch (Robert, Myra Branch) and Carol Arlene Branch; a loving niece, Kiara Branch-Jackson (Calvin, Kwalae, Kayla Jackson); and nephew, Javier Taylor (Moia Logan, Zhane, Zhavier, Javier Jr, Eloni Taylor).

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA.
