Sharlene V. Staten Harris, also known as "Red", was born on February 8, 1960. God looked down, saw she was tired, and called her home on August 20, 2025.
She was a member of First Shiloh Baptist Church for many years. She graduated from Lee Davis High School and then furthered her education in nursing. Sharlene was a great nurse because she was caring, loving, independent, and hardworking. She lit up a room with her bubbly personality, loud laugh, and party spirit.
Sharlene leaves behind her husband James Harris and her three sons; Jamal Allen, Orenthal Davis, and Jamal Davis. She also leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren, Jamal, Jamaria, and Jaylen; two sisters, Jenny and Brenda; two brothers, Maurice and Rodger; three sisters-in-law, Reana, Brenda, and Angela; three brothers-in-law, Edward, Thurman, and Derwin; two devoted friends, Pastor Brown and Lawrence Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
Interment will follow at First Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Mechanicsville, VA.
