Sallie Eugenia Smith was born on October 16, 1947, to the late James Milton and Fannie Mae Smith in Richmond, Va. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy A. Lewis and Mildred L. White.
Sallie graduated from Armstrong High School in 1966 “Go Wildcats” She worked as a nursing assistant most of her adult life. She lived in Church Hill for 72 years and was considered the matriarch of the 500 block, the trick or treat captain, Santa’s helper and the bully blocker. (you had to be there)
Sallie would say no accolades for me. I was a woman of integrity with strong convictions that no one will ever understand. Sallie loved her family and for years was considered the sweetest Aunt by her nieces and nephews. The most stubborn yet lovable by her siblings. No one quite like her, she will truly be missed.
She would probably say always pray to have eyes that see the best people. A heart that forgives the worst. A mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.
She leaves to cherish her memory sister, Diane Booth (Lonnie); brother, Garland Tabb; a devoted niece, Leondra Rainey (Dominic) Three come whenever you need me Nephews Lee Robertson (Dominique) Dane Robertson (Tye) and Jaden Robertson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
