Rudolph Pleasant, Sr.

Rudolph Pleasant, Sr. left us peacefully on August 20, 2025. He was known for his laid back demeanor and unwavering love. Rudolph (Rudy) brought warmth and joy to everyone around him. His gentle spirit created countless cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts. Rudolph (Rudy) attended John M. Grady High school in Hanover, Virginia. His hobbies included listening to music and watching westerns. Rudy was also a dedicated Dallas Cowboy Fan. He had a unique ability to find joy in the simplest of things.

Rudolph Pleasant, Sr. was born on August 17, 1946. He was the son of the late Robert Pleasant, Sr. and Louise Thompson Pleasant. Rudolph was the fourth of seven children. Robert Pleasant, Jr., Marion P. Robinson, Shirley Franklin, Linda White, Luther Pleasant and Terry Johnson.

He married his first wife, Linda Lee Wright, and from that union there were two children, Rudolph Pleasant, Jr. (Nicole) and Leslie Lea Pleasant. He then married his second wife, Iris Parker, and from that union came their son Demon Pleasant. Later in life he met his beloved partner Elsie R. Coleman and devoted family Linda Green, Fiesta Sandiford (Claude Jr.), Lorenzo Coleman, and Towanda Torrance.

Rudolph is preceded in death by his late parents Robert Pleasant, Sr. and Louise Pleasant. Also by Demon Pleasant (son), Armani Oliver (great grandson), Robert Pleasant, Jr. (brother), and Elsie R. Coleman (devoted partner).

Rudolph was blessed with eight grandchildren: Lauren Pleasant, Miles Pleasant, Kyana O'Neil, William Boone, Joseph Boone, De'jon Boone, Kalebh Boone, and Damiya Pleasant. He also leaves to cherish his memory, six great -grandchildren; Juliana Boone, Luna Boone, Jace Boone, Prince Boone, Aliyah Oliver, Johnathan Pleasant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.

Rudy may be gone, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, your legacy of love will never be forgotten. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA.
