Ruby Lena Roane

Ruby Lena Roane was born in Middleburg, North Carolina on June 29, 1941 to the late Enoch Sr. and Mary Allen Davis. She was the oldest of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her brothers George Sr., Phillip and her first born son Keith Davis Sr. She gained her heavenly wings on December 21, 2024 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond VA.

At a young age Ruby relocated to Richmond, VA and attended Richmond Public Schools. She was united in holy matrimony to Sydney Gene Roane on March 31,1970. Their union created a beautiful loving family.

Ruby loved people, her home was always filled with love and laughter. You could always hear her laughing before you entered the house. She had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. She loved spending time with family playing Pokeno, cards and Bingo. She also loved watching Perry Mason and Steve Harvie on TV. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent time with them, and they loved to be in her presence. Ruby had a BIG PRESENCE, to know her is to love her. You never saw Ruby without the love of her life Sydney. This past March they celebrated 54 years of marriage and the two of them continued to spend quality time together.

Left to cherish her memories are her devoted husband Sydney Gene Roane; daughters, Debora and Sandra Davis; son, Anthony Davis(Wanda); Daughter in-law, Gale Davis; step-daughter, Kimberly Roane; step-sons Sydney Roane III & Desi Austin Sr.; Grandchildren, Debora Doane(Andre), Samuel Garlick Jr., Brittney Davis, Simone Price(Jonathan), Antonia Davis and Keith Davis Jr.; Great-Grandchildren, Savontre and Tyrell Garlick, Daviyanna Morgan, Andre Doane Jr. and several step-grand and great grandchildren. Sisters, Daisy Hinton; Mary West(Leroy) and Peggy Brown(Sylvester); Brothers, Ernest Davis(Barbara), Enoch Davis Jr., Deacon Edward Davis Sr.(Irene), Calvin Davis(Lashan) and Malcolm White, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA, with a viewing held one hour prior to service.
