Robert Pleasant, Jr.

Dec. Robert Pleasant, Jr. was born on November 24, 1939, in Hanover, Virginia. He was the son of the late Robert Pleasant, Sr. and Louise Thompson Pleasant and the oldest of seven children, Marion P. Robinson, Shirley Franklin, Rudolph Pleasant, Linda White, Luther Pleasant, and Terry Johnson.

Robert attended John M. Gandy High School in Hanover, Virginia. He married his first wife, Doris Ransome in 1961 and from that union there were four children, Crystal Wood (Willie C. Wood, III), Michelle Kelly, Leatrice Jenkins (Dennis Jenkins) and Robert E. Pleasant (Melodie Pleasant). Later on he married his second wife, Cynthia Yvonne Pleasant in 1982 and from that union had a son, Michael Pleasant.

Robert worked and retired from Reynolds Metal Company. Early in life, he was an original member of the E.C. Fogle Chorus; then he later joined Rock Hill Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member of the Rock Hill Gospel Chorus and served on the deacon board.

Robert was preceded in death by his late wife, Cynthia Yvonne Pleasant, and his parents, Robert and Louise Pleasant.

Robert was blessed with four grandchildren, LaToya Pleasant, Brandon Pleasant, Jaquan Johnson, and Jazmin Wood; five great-grandchildren, Victorya Washington, Aniyah Pleasant, Jaquan Johnson, Jr., Landon Pleasant, and Lamiya Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

I have kept the faith, henceforth there is laid up for me a

crown of righteousness, which the Lord,

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, August 15 2025 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel 5004 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA. 

A funeral service will be held at  11 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 4271 Rockhill Rd., Mechanicsville, VA. 

Interment will follow in Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Mechanicsville, VA.
