Pearle Bernice Harris was born on February 26th, 1937, to the late Pleasant Kenny, Sr., and the late Elizabeth Kenny. She was the 3rd eldest of 10 children and the family resided in Glen Allen, VA. At an early age, Pearle was baptized at St. Peter’s Baptist Church, then later joined Bethlehem Baptist Church as a devoted member. She served as the Sunday School teacher and a faithful servant of the Lord.
She is a graduate of the Virginia Randolph School class of 1954, and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College class of 1997, with a degree in early childhood education. She used that degree to further her career starting at the Bethlehem Daycare, then advancing to MCV Childcare Development Center, to which she dedicated over 35 years.
Pearle enjoyed many things including sewing, tending to her plants, shopping, giving back to her community, and spending time with loved ones.
As a young woman, she married Bernard Harris, Sr. and from that union, six children were born. She is survived by her remaining three children, Bernard Harris, Jr., Pearl C. Williams, and Deborah D. Kasirye (Godfrey). She was preceded in death by three sons, Keith A. Harris, Eric S. Harris, and Jeffrey D. Harris. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, including her devoted granddaughter, Alexis “Lex” Williams; several great-grandchildren, and even a few great-great-grandchildren; her younger sister, Ruby Summer, along with many other relatives and friends.
Pearle peacefully entered her eternal rest on January 28, 2026 at Carnation Total Care in Richmond, VA. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and cherished by many.
A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
