Margarettus Osborne Walker was born on May 29, 1955 to the late Charlie Osborne and Ruth Barnes. On July 30, 2025, she entered eternal rest at the age of 70.
She received her education in the Mecklenburg County Public School System, where she later began her career as a cafeteria cook. She worked at Bluestone Middle School for twenty-three years. She was passionate about her work and enjoyed her job.
Margarettus was a member of Cedar Grove #1 for many years before she moved to Richmond. She enjoyed praising God and spending time with her family. She also loved watching Family Feud and wrestling, and she would always say, “Steve Harvey is my husband!”
Margarettus is preceded in death by her bonus son, Carl Carter, who she is now reunited with. She leaves to cherish her memory her four children, Russell Walker (Rona), Charlie Walker (Juanita), Jesse Walker (Shemeka), and Rosa Carter (Finesse) who was her devoted daughter and caregiver. She also leaves precious memories with her longtime partner Phil Redd, two sisters; Annie Osbourne and Daile Mosley, ten grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA, with a viewing held one hour prior to the service.
