LaDeva R. Battle

On October 19, 2023, a beautiful sweet spirit was picked up from the garden. LaDeva Renee Battle better known as "Deva" was called to her heavenly home. She was born on November 12, 1976 in Dover Delaware, to Gail Williams and Robert Battle.

LaDeva’s journey went through many phases, where her early education was in Richmond and Henrico, Virginia. She graduated from Henrico High School and went on to study early childhood education at J. Sargent Reynolds Community College; and both worked for a short period of time with the YMCA day care and did endless volunteer hours with the Richmond and Henrico elementary school system.

LaDeva accepted God as her Lord and Savior in her childhood years and was a member of Fifth Baptist Church. She later transferred to St. Paul’s Baptist Church. LaDeva always knew that God was the ruler of her life and granted her grace and favor over the 46 years of her life.

She touched so many people with her soft spokeness, beautiful smile, and her laughter. LaDeva never knew a stranger and loved all mankind. If you were blessed to have known her then you received something from her, even if it was a piece of candy because she would not let you leave her without sharing a conversation and leaving you with something.

LaDeva loved family with all of her heart, and leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Gail; father Robert; beloved daughter, Jacqualyn; and her beautiful granddaughter, Braelyn, who she adored; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA.
