Joyce Ann Bell was born on June 14, 1945, in Richmond, Virginia, to George and Frances Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings, Cecil Bell, Virginia Bell, and Ethel Pooler.
Joyce Ann attended Richmond Public schools and graduated from Armstrong High School. She worked for the commonwealth of Virginia for more than 32 years and retired in 2005 as a supervisor in the Department of Information Technology. During the 1980’s, she started selling home interiors and gifts and quickly became one of the company’s top sellers. Her dogs - Mindy, Daisy, Cody, and Sophie - brought her great joy, and in her earlier years, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family in Philadelphia. She enjoyed playing Pokeno with her family and friends. Joyce accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was a devoted member of Fair Oaks Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served as choir treasurer until her health began to decline in 2020.
She is survived by her son, Alonzo Bell (Jessica); her sister, Rita Piermann; her granddaughters, Briauna Bell, Raven Moseley, and Makayla Moseley; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Fair Oaks Baptist Church, 1701 E. Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA with a viewing being held on hour prior to the service.
