Jesse Goodwin, Jr.

Jesse Goodwin, Jr., 93, of Richmond, VA departed this life April 25, 2021 at VCU Medical Center.

Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, the Honorable Deacon Goodwin resided in Richmond, VA with his wife, Beatrice. Deacon Goodwin accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at Union Baptist Church, Richmond, VA. Deacon Goodwin served in the U.S. Armed Forces, receiving an Honorable Discharge. He also later retired from the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

 A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA with a viewing held one hour prior to the service.

 Interment, with military honors, will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
