On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, God in His infinite wisdom decided to call home one of his Children, Mr. Jack Archer.
Mr. Archer was born in Petersburg, VA, spent time in the Florida area, and returned to Petersburg to finish high school. Born September 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Jack Archer and Rosa A. Archer. Mr. Archer lived a blessed life up until his death. He fought a good fight with health issues prior to his passing, but never wavering in his faith and being thankful for the goodness of God.
Mr. Archer attended and graduated from Peabody High School. He faithfully served time in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. Mr. Archer worked for Reynolds Aluminum where he worked for 30 years until his retirement. Mr. Archer enjoyed fishing, watching tv, the beach, and taking a good nap. He was a lover of animals and loved the family dog Sheba.
Most importantly, Mr. Archer was a man after God’s heart. He was a man of faith, and always had an encouraging word to share with all those he came in contact with. Mr. Archer had such a loving and giving spirit, and left an impact on all those who knew him. Although, he always had a big smile, he had an even bigger heart. Mr. Archer was steadfast to show everyone he encountered love and kindness. He embodied Galatians 6:10:
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Mr. Archer was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Archer and William Archer, daughter Melinda Archer, grandson son Joshua Archer.
He leaves to cherish his memories Brenda Archer (Wife), Jack Archer, III (Son), Cynthia Archer (daughter), Candice Archer (daughter), Isaiah Walton (grandson), Ricky Archer (brother); host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A viewing will be held 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026.
The interment will immediately follow the service at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
