Fred Leeroy Johnson, age 82, of Richmond, VA departed this life on September 1, 2023.

Fred Leroy Johnson was born in Chester, Virginia on January 14, 1937. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Lee Ellis and father, Benny Leroy Johnson and former wife, Queen Scales. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Kimberly Johnson Gaines (Clarence); four stepdaughters, Sharon Shakespear, Vallarie Reilly (Donnell), Desiree Scott, and Iris Reilly; plus a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fred was a graduate from the Virginia School for the Blind in Newport News, Virginia, and later retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Fred was a long time member of Little Mount Zion Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, where he served as a deacon and a member of the Golden Jubilee Gospel Church

Services will be private.
