Devondes P. Taylor

Devondes Patrick Taylor aka Face passed away on August 9, 2025 at the age of 57.

Born on December 1, 1967 in Richmond ,VA. He is preceded in death by his mother Phyllis Ann Taylor, father James Taylor, and daughters Laronda Garnett and Alexis Johnson.

Patrick dedicated his life to building both with his hands and his heart whom he learned this skill from his mentor and loving grandfather Elder Richard Tucker. A skilled construction worker, he took great pride in every project he touched, leaving behind structures that will stand tall for years to come.

Outside of work, Patrick had a passion for music, especially hip-hop, which filled his days with rhythm and energy. On Sundays, you could always find him cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, win or lose.

He is survived by two loving sister, Lastarsha Taylor aka Joy (Taahira), and Nanetta Mceachin; two devoted brothers, Gregory Johnson (Martisa Johnson) and James Taylor (T Bird); two devoted cousins, Junius Johnson aka Ted and Valerie Jackson aka Pig;, two devoted friends, Ivory and Chicken Seed; and a devoted grandfather Elder Richard Tucker; four aunts, Vivian Jackson (Stanford), Valeria Sweringer (Haywood), Mary Ferris (Widowed), and Diane Lightfoot; and uncles, Raymond Lightfoot, and John Taylor.

Above all, he loved his children. His legacy lives through them. He is survived by his daughter Devonda Davis, Tyericka Clark, only son Jamal Mitchell (Brianna Mitchell), Shaquail Clark, Richelle Hinton, Rickyma Cary, Tekitha Ogburn, 16 grandchildren, one niece and three nephews along with many family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him deeply.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on September 6 at 11 am at Wilson Funeral Home.

Patrick will be remembered for his hard work, his love of music and football, and of course his charisma.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA, with a viewing held one hour prior to the service.
