David L. Ross, Sr. Obituary

David Lee Ross, Sr., peacefully entered eternal rest on June 5, 2025.

Born on October 5, 1949, in Richmond, Virginia, David was the cherished son of the late Fred Melvin Ross and Mary Ross. He was a proud graduate of Maggie L. Walker High School and carried the spirit of excellence instilled there throughout his life.

David spent part of his journey in Baltimore, Maryland, before returning to his hometown of Richmond. A natural entrepreneur, he pursued various business ventures as well as dedicated many years of service to Rubicon, Inc., where he left a lasting impact through his work and mentorship. He served with compassion and integrity, supporting individuals on their journey to recovery and reentry. He was more than an employee, he was a mentor, a steady presence, and a source of hope for countless lives. His ability to connect with people left a legacy of healing and purpose within the organization and the broader community.

David was a devoted father. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: David Ross Jr., Derrell Ross, Darnell Ross, Summer Ross, Shaletha Dyson and one bonus son, Robert Kernodle; a host of beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply.

Above all, David was a man of deep faith and unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ. His love for the Lord guided his words, his actions, and how he treated others. He was never shy about sharing his testimony and encouraging others to trust in God's grace and power.

David's legacy is one of strength, resilience, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He will be remembered for the wisdom, laughter, and compassion he shared so freely.

A private celebration of life will be held. The family thanks everyone for their prayers, support, and kind expressions during this time.

The family is receiving services of comfort from Wilson & Associates Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA.
