On Thursday March 5,2026,our beloved Darlene Evette Jones-Winn was called to rest. She was born on September 1,1961, in Richmond, Virginia. Darlene was educated in the Richmond Public School system and graduated from Armstrong High School in 1979. Following high school, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she became a Sigma Dove. Darlene was known for her kind heart, social spirit, and love for life. She enjoyed helping others and brought joy to those around her with her bubbly personality and energic smile. She loved traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Her greatest pride and joy were her family. Darlene treasured her roles as a wife,mother,and grandmother. She especially adored her grandchildren and delighted in every opportunity to spend time with them,always showering them with love and attention. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Judy Jones; her father Arthur Jones Sr.; and her brothers Ricky Jones and Eric Jones.
Darlene leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted husband, Ray Winn, Sr.; her loving sons, Bryan Jones and Justin Jones; loving Stepdaughter, Ra'Quita Starke, ten beloved grandchildren; Jamon, Breion, Jalyra, Jai'Sean, Justin, Jr., Endya, Eriyana, Messiah, Kehlani, and Ka'Vion; goddaughters, Shelby Williams and Shannon Payne; her mother, Rose Jones; three sisters, L. Francine(Larry) Griffis, Nichelle, and Joy Jones; and her two brothers, Arthur Jr. and Mark Sr. (Dana) Jones; seven nephews, three nieces, one aunt, Evelyn Sears; one brother-in-law Curtis Winn(Sandy),on sister-in-law Denise Winn; and a host of cousins, extended family members ,and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Darlene's warmth, laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of kindness and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5004 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.. on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
