Cheryl D. Cunningham

Ms. Cheryl Diane Cunningham, 59, of Lawrenceville, Georgia departed this life on Monday, September 10, 2024. Cheryl was born on the 27th of October 1964, in Richmond, Virginia to Novella and Vaughan Cunningham. She attended schools in Richmond, Georgia, North Carolina, Kansas, Italy, and Germany.

Cheryl was a dedicated health professional that worked tirelessly in disease prevention for over 30 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Project Manager.

Cheryl was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend and enjoyed reading, live music, gardening and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Novella W. Cunningham; grandmothers, Mary Williams, and Elizabeth Moon; and aunt, Angeline Taylor.

She is survived by her father, Vaughan Cunningham, (Jean), sister, Tira Justice, (Arthur Justice Jr.); beloved nephews, Arthur L. Justice III, and Torin M. Justice; one great nephew, Arthur L. Justice IV; six aunts, Lena M. Flippen, Theresa Bailey, Faith Goodall, Lisa Shelton, Tracey Dickerson, and Carolyn Cunningham; three uncles, Gregory, Jon, and Paul Cunningham; one brother-in-law, and a host of cousins and friends.

On Wednesday September 4th, Cheryl’s last declaration was a longing for “peace, hope, dignity and sincerity.”

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Rd., Richmond, VA, with a viewing held one hour prior to the service. 

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA.
