Audrey Maureen Booth was born on July 22, 1952, in Amelia, Virginia, to the late John and Alberta Booth. On Sunday, March 22, 2026, God gently called Audrey home. While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the life she lived, the love she gave, and the many ways she poured herself into all of us.
From an early age, Audrey accepted Christ and united with Chester Grove Baptist Church. Her faith was not just something she spoke about, it was something she lived. She walked quietly, yet confidently, trusting God in all things. Audrey didn’t need to be loud to be strong; her strength showed in her consistency, her kindness, and her unwavering love for others. She will always be remembered as the one with the golden heart.
Audrey was educated in the Russell Grove School System and graduated from Amelia County High School in June 1970. She later attended Virginia State University from 1970 to 1971. Whatever she set her mind to, Audrey approached it with determination and grace.
For more than 30 years, Audrey was employed by the City of Richmond. She worked as an event planner and facilities manager for the Richmond Coliseum, the historic Carpenter Center and Altria Theater. When Altria Theater transitioned to private management, she continued her work as the Community and Municipal Operations Director. Audrey took pride in her work and treated everyone she encountered with respect and care. Due to declining health, she retired in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, service, and professionalism.
Above everything else, Audrey loved her family. She truly believed that family went far beyond blood—if you knew Audrey, you were family. Life has a way of putting people into your life and if you had the opportunity to have Audrey in yours then you were truly blessed. She had a smile that could light up a room and a selflessness beyond measure. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. She listened without judgment, gave advice with wisdom, and loved with her whole heart.
Audrey was the one you could call, the one who would pray with you, and the one who always showed up.
Audrey leaves to cherish her loving memory her beloved son, Sean Booth I of Richmond, Virginia; and her three precious grandchildren, Sean Booth II, Egypt Booth, both of Richmond, Virginia, and Eduardo Ventura of Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, who brought her so much joy and pride. She is also survived by her loving siblings: her brothers, Lonnie Booth Sr. (Diane) of Amelia, Virginia, and Kenneth Booth (Jane) of Richmond, Virginia; and her sisters, Marion Banks of Odenton, Maryland, and Gwenlyn Carter of St. Charles, Missouri.
Audrey leaves behind a large and loving family who meant the world to her, including her nephews and nieces: Antoine Booth I, Dane Robertson (Tiesha), Aaron Booth (Nikki), Joshua Carter, Lee Robertson Jr. (Dominique), Kimberly Banks, Genevieve Banks, Paris Carter, Michelle Carn, Jasmine Waddey(Nicholas), and Leondra Rainey (Dom); her uncle, George Anderson (Lucy); along with great-nephews, great-nieces, extended family members, dear friends, and co-workers.
Audrey will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, her loving heart, and her quiet but powerful faith. She taught us how to love without limits, how to serve without expecting anything in return, and how to trust God through every season. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love lives on in each of us—and her memory will forever remain a guiding light in our lives. We celebrate the beautiful life of our Audrey
