Anthony "Tony Man" Wilson

Departed this life Thursday, October 3, 2024, Mr. Anthony 'Tony Man' Wilson, who converted to Islam and received his Arabic name of Al Mustafa Abdul Suluki.

He was born December 11, 1952 to the late William Lassiter and Lizzie Geneva Wilson in Pennsylvania. He later moved to Tillery, NC where he received his formal education.

Bro. Mustafa worked on the farm in NC and at a tobacco factory.  In Virginia, he worked construction until his retirement. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Ann Strickland.

Bro. Mustafa leaves to cherish his amazing memory, his wife of more than 40 years, Joyce Taylor; one son, Maurice Andre' 'Faheem Shakir' Taylor; one daughter, Ayana Najimah Taylor; 8 grandchildren, Jade, Dorian, Cashe, Kalimah, Daniel, Rakim, Isaac, and Josiah; 4 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Brenda Lassiter-Burch and one brother, Mr. William Lassiter, Jr., both of Philadelphia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, among them devoted Muddy Cake and Duty Man, other relatives and very close friends; too many to name.

Al Mustafa was always working on lawn mowers. He was known as the 'Lawn Mower Man' to many!!! He loved hunting, fishing, Music, and helping anyone he could. He loved all animals!!! He was rarely seen without a dog. When anyone was in Bro. Mustafa's presence, you knew you were going to learn something new. His main purpose was to enlighten you with knowledge and wisdom!  He lived each day like it was his last and never had a regret!!!

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - South Chapel, 1215 Richmond Hwy., Richmond, VA, with a viewing held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond, VA.
