Angela Jones Davis, 56, of Richmond, Virginia, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Born on January 9, 1969, to Mr. Curnell and Mrs. Hulda Westbrook, Sr., Angela was a product of Richmond Public Schools and a graduate of Open High School. She attended St. Paul's College and earned her Associate's Degree from John Tyler Community College. Throughout her career, she served in various roles across banking, MCV Medical Center, the YMCA of Greater Richmond, and most recently, Modivcare, where she served as Credentialing Director. Yet, for Angela, no title defined her—her heart for serving people did.
Angela was a lifelong member of City of Refuge Church (formerly Refuge Sandston), where she faithfully served in numerous leadership roles, including Adult Choir Directress, Missionary Secretary, Women's Council President, Church Clerk, Church Administrator, and many others within Region IV and the International Women's Council. Her life's mission was to pour into others with excellence, compassion, and a servant's heart.
At the age of 9, Angela received the gift of the Holy Ghost, but it was in her college years that her relationship with God deeply blossomed. Her greatest accomplishments, she often said, were giving her life to Christ, her marriage of 34 years to Deacon Darryl E. Davis, and the miraculous gift of motherhood to her daughters, Victoria and Shála. Though medically told she couldn't have children, God blessed her with two, and countless others she mentored as daughters of the heart.
Even through the challenges of a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2024, Angela remained steadfast in her faith, believing that healing is not always physical, but being made whole in Christ. She lived each day striving to be the best version of herself, loving people with an open heart and serving with unwavering dedication.
Angela's legacy continues through her beloved husband, Darryl Davis; daughters, Victoria and Shála; parents, Curnell and Hulda Westbrook, Sr.; father, Al Jones; siblings, Carol Westbrook, Dayna Williams, Curnell "Diamond" Westbrook, Jr. (Ronda), and Ricky Freeman (Tara); parents-in-law, Willie and Barbara Davis; a host of family, God-children, and her cherished sister circle: Katina "TeeTee" Paige (Dirk), Denise "Den" Biggs (David), and Kimberley Dudley.
Angela's impact lives on through every life she touched, every ministry she led, and every seed of love and service she planted. Her assignment on earth is complete, but her legacy will continue to grow.
