Aari O. Odera

Aari Ochieng Odera  passed away surrounded by family and close friends on January 13, 2022 at VCU Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clarice Odera. 

Aari was born at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA on March 24, 2013, to Arnold and Stephanie Odera. Aari was known by his family and friends to be the "coolest kid ever". He attended All Saints Catholic School where he was a 3rd grader.

He loved reading graphic novels and had accumulated quite a collection. Aari had a love for all things music and anime. He was a trendy kid and budding sneaker head. Aari loved to sing, play games, and show off his photography skills by secretly snapping pictures or recording videos while out with family and friends.

Despite his short time on earth, he was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around him. 

Aari will forever be remembered and loved by his parents, Arnold and Stephanie; great grandmother, Geraldine Wesby; grandparents, Doreen Goode, Stephen Grady (Susie) and Peter Odera (Asker); uncles, Felix Odera, Frederick Odera, Kevin Odera, and Corey Daniels; aunts, Michelle Odera and Effie Odera; and a host of family and friends.

Donations can be made in Aari's honor to All Saints Catholic School, 3418 Noble Avenue Richmond, VA 23222

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at The Life Church RVA, 5515 Bryce Lane, Richmond, with a viewing being held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be private.

The family has entrusted final arrangements to Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - East Chapel, 5008 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA.
